Lavender Vodka Lemonade
-2 oz vodka
-1 oz lemon juice
-1 oz lavender syrup
-Lemon wheel for garnish
Directions:
-Add ingredients to a glass.
-Add ice.
-Shake until chilled.
-Strain over fresh ice.
-Garnish with a lemon wheel.
The “Fridge Door” version!
You can make a whole bottle of Lavender Vodka Lemonade right in the vodka bottle! Pour out 2 cups from a 1 liter bottle of vodka. Now add back in 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and 1 cup of lavender syrup. Store it in your refrigerator for up to 10 days (but let’s be honest, it’s not making it through the day).
Keep in mind, most cocktails are either shaken or stirred with ice, resulting in up to 20% dilution! This batched cocktail recipe isn’t diluted at all, so you may want to add a splash of water when serving.
Tequilajito
-2 oz tequila blanco
-1 oz lime juice
-½ oz simple syrup
-4-5 mint leaves
-Lime wheel for garnish
Directions:
-Add lime juice, simple syrup and mint to a shaker.
-Muddle the mint.
-Add tequila.
-Add ice.
-Shake until chilled.
-Pour into a glass.
-Garnish with a lime wheel.
Is tequila actually a health food?
I’m not here to say one way or the other, and nothing I say should be mistaken for health or medical advice, but…
Tequila contains agavins, which are complex, indigestible sugars that act as a probiotic and may actually increase your metabolism, instead of slowing it down like most liquors.
Tequila has been shown to increase healthy cholesterol and decrease unhealthy cholesterol.
Tequila has high levels of the dietary fiber inulin, which helps aid digestion and supports healthy bacteria in your stomach (but only if you drink small amounts, large amounts could have the opposite effect).
Not to mention, tequila is naturally gluten and carb free!
Whiskey Peach Tea
-2 oz. whiskey
-4 oz. iced tea
-1 oz. peach schnapps
-1oz honey syrup (optional)
-Lemon wedge for garnish
Directions:
-Fill a glass with ice.
-Add the whiskey, iced tea, and peach schnapps to the glass.
-Stir well.
-Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Make a whole pitcher for those warm spring days in the backyard!
To a 68 oz pitcher add 2 cups of whiskey, 4 cups of iced tea, 1 cup of peach schnapps, and 1 cup of honey syrup (optional). Slice two lemons into wheels and float them in your pitcher. When you’re ready to serve, just pour over ice and enjoy!
